In Practice

A geometric design featuring interlocking circles, triangles, and hexagons forming a symmetrical pattern on a black background.

Yoga does not end at the edges of the mat. The practice of non -harm, relational living, and presence call us into communities and systems we inhabit - to move from a practice of embodiment toward a practice of participation.

Through Empathy in Action, a program of the Transformative Justice Center, I teach trauma-informed yoga to men incarcerated at Correctional Training Facility in Soledad, CA.

Teaching in this setting continues to deepen my inquiry into agency, choice, power, and embodiment.

Yoga as Advocacy.  Healing as Resistance.

When we are resourced, we rise in advocacy - offering presence in the places it’s most needed.

Through Presence Bence, we accompany women* and mothers* navigation the isolating, often punitive terrain of family court, post-separation abuse, and invisible violence

(*and all those targeted by these systems)

We show up - sitting in courtrooms, in cars at child exchanges, walking beside you through appointments, holding space for your experience.

We weave yoga and advocacy, believing that love and presence can disrupt cycles of harm and seed a more compassionate world.
