“Our bodies are not battlegrounds, they are sanctuaries.”

Trauma-Informed Yoga

This is a permission-giving class—oriented around personal agency, choice, and internal consent.

I believe repair begins in the body.
Not in another’s words, not in the world becoming perfectly safe—
but here: in breath, in bone, in the places within us still longing to be met.

This practice centers choice.
It is permission-giving.
It is invitational.

It is about pacing—moving at the cadence of your own heartbeat.
It is about choice—your body, your practice, your voice.
It is about internal consent—the freedom to say yes, to say no, to say I don’t know, to change your mind,

to move, to pause, to rest.

What Makes This Class Trauma-Informed

Options, not expectations — every shape is an invitation, never a demand.

Invitational language — permission, not performance.

A culture of consent — internal consent first, choice woven into every cue.

Safety practices — orienting often, eyes open or closed, clear exits always available.

No physical touch — self-touch and self-adjustments modeled, never imposed.

Who This Practice Supports

This class is especially designed for those longing for a gentle, supportive space to move, reconnect,

and heal—including:

- Survivors of relational or post-separation abuse

- Those living with the impacts of chronic relational trauma, complex PTSD, or ongoing stress

- Individuals affected by systemic oppression, marginalization, or cultural disconnection

- Anyone curious about yoga as a path of repair and restoration

This is a space centered on the lived experiences of women—including cisgender women, trans women,

and those who identify as women. If you are seeking a women-centered community for healing and

embodied support, you are welcome here. This boundary exists to honor the lived experience of those

who have survived gender-based trauma, and to create an environment where deep rest and repair

can unfold in safety.

No prior yoga experience is required. All practices are invitational, paced to honor your agency, and

rooted in consent and care.

Group Agreements

Confidentiality —  Stories stay, lessons leave. Each person’s privacy is honored.

“Ouch” and “Oops” - stay curious about tender places - whether it’s a new sting or salt in an old wound.

Consent Culture — Participation is always by invitation, never demand. You are free to say yes, no, change your mind, or choose another way.

Non-Judgment — We meet ourselves and each other with curiosity and compassion, not critique.

Pace & Pause — Move at your own pace, honor your body’s cues.

Shared Responsibility — Safety is something we tend together - by naming needs, asking for support, and respecting boundaries—our own and others’.

Brave Space vs Safe Space - This is not about perfect safety, but about being human.  Harm may happen. When is does, we return to compassion, curiosity, and the possibility of repair and growth.

Responding to Triggers

Empowerment First — If something stirs, you are in control: pause, breath before responding, rest, or step out. No explanation required.

Grounding Practices — Orient to the exits, find the ground beneath you, soften your gaze to the horizon.

Support Is Available — If you want extra support, you are welcome to let me know quietly during or after class

Sharing is Optional — Your process belongs to you. Spoken or silent, it is valid.

Respect for All Journeys — Activation is not failure; it is the body’s way of speaking.  We honor each person’s process with compassion and without judgement.
